Project goals:
- Modernization of radar complexes for ATC – Site: Sofia Airport Radar Complex;
- Construction of a new radar complex. Official contractor Thales Air Systems S.A.S, official subcontractor: Balkantel OOD;
- The scope of the contract includes design, factory tests (FAT), final functional tests (SAT) and deliveries, construction and installation works, settings, trial operation and commissioning;
Activities:
- Installation of NMS “Umbrella” remote monitoring system and signal cables. The system is fully developed and 100% product of Balkantel;
- Installation of a reinforced lattice tower, calculated according to Eurocode, including reinforced concrete foundation, platform, radom ring, ladder, electric winch;
- Mounting of pedestal, primary and secondary antennas;
- Radom installation, with adjacent electrical and lighting installations and warning lights;
- Installation of a container for the antenna motors;
- Installation of lightning protection installation on the tower and grounding;
- Installation of a container for radar equipment, consisting of two 24 “ISO containers, including reinforced concrete foundation and steps;
- Installation of a container for a diesel generator – 20 “ISO container, including reinforced concrete foundation and steps;
- Power supply installation, including electrical cables and 4 pcs. boards: 1 pc. in a container for a diesel generator, 2 pcs. in a radar container and 1 pc. in a container for the antenna motors;
- Earthing installation of a container for radar equipment and a container for a diesel generator;
- Installation of a diesel generator with AVR;
- Installation of a system for redundant power supply of two UPS;
- Installation of air conditioning system, including 4 pcs. the air conditioner for the container with the radar equipment;
- Installation of a ventilation system from louver grilles in a container for a diesel generator;
- Lighting installation in the containers and on the tower;
- Installation of a fire extinguishing system;
- Installation of an access control system;
- Site works – road pavement and embankment with crushed stone;
