The project is for the construction of completely new modern signaling systems in the section September – Plovdiv and telecommunications Sofia – Plovdiv and is part of the overall project for modernization of the railway line Sofia – Plovdiv with a total length of 156 km. The modernization of the section Septemvri – Plovdiv covers a route with an approximate length of 54 km. The railway line is electrified and double-track. Completely new systems for security equipment are being built at the following stations and the adjacent interstations: Septmvri, Pazardzhik, Ognyanovo, Stamboliyski and Todor Kableshkov. ERTMS (ETCS Level 1 and GSM-R) computer station centralizations with ready interface for dispatching management and control, signalless inter-station auto-blocking with axle counters are being built on the built railway route Septemvri – Plovdiv for speed 160-200 km / h. In order to achieve secure voice communication and responsible data transmission in the section Sofia – Plovdiv, the following systems and facilities are being built:
- Optical connectivity between all objects;
- SDH / PDH transmission equipment;
- Data transmission network;
- Dispatching and station systems for voice communication;
- Passenger information systems – information boards, sound and clock systems;
- GSM-R system in the whole section;
- Centralized control and video surveillance systems.
